Imo Governorship Poll: INEC to conduct supplementary election on April 25


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Imo State has fixed Saturday April 25 for the supplementary of the governorship elections in 256 polling units across 23 local government areas. Addressing a news conference on Wednesday at the INEC headquarters in Owerri, the Imo State capital in south-east Nigeria, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Gabriel Ada, said the commission was more prepared and ready to conduct the supplementary election.

Poll postponement: Council of State advises INEC consult stakeholders before making any decision


After a meeting with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which lasted for about seven hours, the Council of State has asked Nigeria's electoral umpire to consult all stakeholders involved in the elections before making a final decision whether or not to conduct the polls as scheduled in this month.

2015 election: Okorocha charges police to be non-partisan


As the general elections draw closer, the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has called on the police to be fair in the discharge of their duties and not take sides with any political party. The Governor made this call when he visited the police headquarters in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Rochas Okorocha to contest Imo Guber after failed presidential bid


In the aftermath of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential primaries, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has now turned his attention to a second term in office as news has emerged that the former presidential aspirant picked the APC governorship ticket in absentia last night.
