Abuja Court halts impeachment move against Gov. Fayose


A Federal High Court in Abuja has set aside all actions and activities of the impeached former Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr Adewale Omirin and the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers from November 21, 2014 till date.

Supreme Court Upholds Gov. Fayose’s Victory


The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal by the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the eligibility and election of the Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayo Fayose for lack of merit. The court held that the impeachment panel was in breach of the constitutional requirement, adding that should impeachment be considered, it is not enough to disqualify anyone from participating from an election, except such a person is further arraigned and convicted before a competent court of jurisdiction or Code of Conduct Tribunal, he cannot be guilty of any crime as proscribed by section 182, subsection 1 of the 1999 constitution.

Supreme Court to decide Fayose’s fate today


There was anxiety in Ekiti State as the Supreme Court in Abuja prepared to deliver judgment on Tuesday (today) in the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress against the victory of Governor Ayodele Fayose in the June 21, 2014 governorship election.

Police to enforce no movement order on Gov. Fayose


The Ekiti State Police Command has said it will enforce the “no movement” rule on everybody, including Governor Ayodele Fayose and political appointees in the state.

The command also barred movement/distribution of money or inducement in whatever form from one polling booth to the other.

The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has described outbursts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the possible removal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega as “mere comedy”, stating that the President Goodluck Jonathan could sack him if he wishes.

APC must apologise to Nigerians for lying about Buhari's health -- Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) must apologise for lying to Nigerians on the health status of its presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd), using pictures taken in Transcop Hilton, Abuja and claiming that the pictures were taken in London.

APC hiding Buhari’s health status – Fayose


The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has accused the leadership of the All Progressives Congress of covering up the true health status of their presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari. Fayose said the secret trip made on Thursday by the former Head of State to the United Kingdom (UK) en route United States of America (USA) for medical treatment has shown that the APC leaders, especially Senator Bola Tinubu were hiding Buhari’s true health status for their selfish gains.

Obasanjo is Nigeria’s greatest enemy — Fayose


The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose on Saturday described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the greatest enemy of Nigeria, saying: “He is a confusionist who has lost his status as a statesman and Nigerians should simply ignore him.” Fayose also said he was optimistic that President Jonathan will be reelected for another term in office noting that “Obasanjo is only fighting President Jonathan because he prevented him (Obasanjo) from ruling Nigeria from his Ota Farm.”

APC asks NASS to probe results of Ekiti guber elections


Following the release of an audio recording by an Intelligence Officer, Capt. Sagir Koli, of the 32 Artillery Brigade alleging that the military was used to rig last year's Ekiti gubernatorial election in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked the National Assembly to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident.

PDP distance self form Fayose's controversial advert on Buhari


Few days after some Nigerian newspapers displayed advertisements sponsored by the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, warning Northerners not to support General Buhari at the forthcoming elections because he is too old to lead the Nigeria and the country has had enough of state burials, the Peoples Democratic Party has distanced itself from the message noting that it does nor represent the views of the party or its presidential candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan.

Stomach Infrastructure: Fayose distributes food items to less privileged in Ekiti


The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has kick started the stomach infrastructure programme of his administration in Ado Ekiti by distributing  birds, bags of rice and cash gifts in large quantities to the less privileged, widows and aged ones in the state.

Tribunal upholds Fayose's election


The Ekiti State Election Petition Tribunal has upheld the election of Gov. Ayodele Fayose. Chairman of the panel, Justice Mohammed, dismissed the case filed by the All Progressives Congress noting that the opposition party failed to substantiate the allegations of electoral violence and arrest of officials.
