Stay in your party or quit politics, APC tells PDP members



The All Progressives Congress on Wednesday formally shut its doors against members of the Peoples Democratic Party wishing to join its ranks. The party also enjoined members and leaders of the ruling party to stay where they were and rebuild their party to play its new found role as the main opposition party.

APC must apologise to Nigerians for lying about Buhari's health -- Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) must apologise for lying to Nigerians on the health status of its presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd), using pictures taken in Transcop Hilton, Abuja and claiming that the pictures were taken in London.

APC asks NASS to probe results of Ekiti guber elections


Following the release of an audio recording by an Intelligence Officer, Capt. Sagir Koli, of the 32 Artillery Brigade alleging that the military was used to rig last year's Ekiti gubernatorial election in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked the National Assembly to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident.

Gunmen invade residence of APC Chairman, opposition party express concern


Unknown gunmen today raided the Abuja residence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Chief John Oyegun, at about 1:30 am when the latter was away attending an unscheduled meeting. This has prompted the opposition party to raise concerns over the safety of its Chairman and other officers.

APC berates DSS, says Presidency plans to postpone next month's election


The All Progressives Congress has again lambasted the Department of State Service over recent allegations that the opposition party was planning to hack the database of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). APC claimed that the body has turned into a machinery of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and consequently a mockery of intelligence-gathering.

APC dismiss DSS allegations of plan to hack INEC database


Reacting to allegations of a plan to hack the database of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the APC National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has accused the DSS of unprofessionalism and shamelessness in the discharge of its duties. He noted that in the course of investigations, the service detained party members including women and had their legs tied while depriving them of food for days before coming out with claims that confessions had been obtained from them. He described this as a disgrace to the DSS and accused the body of conniving with the ruling party to discredit the opposition and distract them.

APC Presidential Aspirants sign undertaking not to quit despite outcome of primaries


The All Progressives Congress (APC) have compelled all five of it's Presidential Aspirants to sign a bond promising not to leave the party if unsuccessful at the primaries.

According to the party's National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the candidates will have to support whichever candidate emerges victorious at the primaries.

The All Progressives Congress has hired an international political consulting firm, AKPD Message and Media, “to boost its electoral chances in the upcoming elections’’. This was confirmed in a statement by the party's Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Airport rallies: APC accuse police of double standard

The All Progressives Congress has accused the police of selective enforcement of its ban on holding rallies at airports.

A statement issued by the party's Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, criticised the pollice for allowing the Peoples Democratic Party to violate the ban on February 1, when members of the ruling party turned out in large numbers at the Bauchi Airport to welcome the new PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu.
