Boko Haram threaten to attack Emir of Kano

The leader of the extremist Islamic sect, Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau has released a video threatening to attack the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, for mobilising support against the sect. The former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor had recently criticized the terrorists and asked residents of Kano State to arm and defend themselves against future attacks following the recent attack carried out by the sect on the Kano Central Mosque.

Next CBN Governor may come from the South West

Recent rumours suggest that President Jonathan, in a bid to harness support from the South-West and halt the increasing popularity of the opposition All Progressives Congress in that region and some parts of the North-East and North-West, is planning to appoint someone from the zone to as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service or to take over from Sanusi as CBN Governor.

NNPC yet to remit $20bn, Sanusi insists

Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Lamido Sanusi, has said that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is yet to remit to the Federation Account $20bn out of the $67bn it realised from crude oil sale on behalf of the Federal Government.
